I am so excited to tell you about a new product that just came out today. Painted Moments are 12x12 painted backgrounds that are a little bit artsy and a little messy. Reverie Atelier

I am so blessed to be able to create for a living and I'm especially blessed when it comes to having amazing online artists for friends!! This month, I'm lucky enough to work with a group known as Reverie Atelier....Christine Honsigner, Aja Abney, Shen Guthrie and Danielle. We collaborated on a really beautiful kit called "Retro Spring"! It's filled with vintage finds, prints and retro-goodness! A New Digital Home!!

I couldn't be more thrilled to share with you that starting today I have a new home for my digital designs!!  I am now at JessicaSprague.com!  You can read all about it here!

Jessica and her team have been fantastic and so welcoming. I am still pinching myself! I will be slowly releasing my current products over the course of the next few weeks, as well as adding some new things here and there. I met Jessica a few years back when we were both teaching at a digital scrapbooking convention in Provo, Utah. She was warm, kind and stayed to help me set up my classroom. Her generosity and enthusiasm for digital scrapbooking really shone through and I'm just delighted to be working with her.

We are currently teaching a Digital Art Journaling class at JS.com and are having a blast. The students have been so enthusiastic and have been creating some real works of art. Art Journaling, whether done digitally or with paints, is a fantastic way to spend time creating... getting lost in the process and it can also be very healing.

I wanted to give a shout-out to my friends and colleagues at CatScrap to say "thank you" for everything. This is not goodbye...I'll be seeing you around!

Creating your own Subway Art (and other new things!)

I am super excited to share a new downloadable workshop that I have today at CatScrap — SubWay Art! I have been taking a mixed media course with the amazing Christy Tomlinson. In her She Had Three Hearts art journaling course, she teaches so many techniques in that class that it would blow your mind! LOL!

One of the techniques she teaches is Image Transfer. It has a really cool effect, in that parts of the image that you are transferring will tear off in places and it gives it a perfectly distressed look. I've been wanting to make my own subway art for a while and I thought that image transfer would be the way to go. It's super messy but fun and in the end you have a really unique piece of art to hang in your home.

Here is my finished artwork. I've set it up on a shelf in my living room and it makes the perfect accent!

Summertime is all about Alfresco!!

Summer is in full gear at the Janitz household! We've been busy riding bikes, reading, gardening and taking care of our obese Corgi, Sonny. We have him on a strict diet and exercise regiman. The vet said it was critical! We love that little guy and want him to stay around a while.

My own exercise regimen has been drastically changed as I am struggling with what I think is plantar fasciitis in my right foot. It is painful for me even to walk and it's making my hip inflamed as well. I go see a sport doc on the 19th. I may start swimming!

No plans to go camping for a while but we are keeping busy! Friday we're going to the Plymouth Art Fair, here in town and then Ellie's cousins come in from Colorado. And in a few weeks, we'll be heading out to California to visit my sister. I can't wait to show Ellie the city I fell in love with - San Francsico!

I'm really excited to share with you my first real "kit" in a while with elements and everything! LOL! As most of you know I am more at home designing grungy backgrounds and brushes, but this was really for me to create! A New Art Single and some Painty Stuff!

I am really excited about my new Art Single, up today at CatScrap! It is a bit different for me stylistically, but I have to say I love it! I got out my paints and mediums and collaged the background, then painted the coffee cup separately, in gouache paints. I love these paints because they are water based and easy to work with, but also very vibrant and more opaque than watercolors. Then I put it together digitally, so it truly is Mixed Media! (if you think of your computer as a medium, which I truly do). You can print it and frame it as art, use it in card making or other paper crafts or anything your mind can dream up!

I also have some new brush strokes for you, made from those gouache paints. They are perfect to add some accents on your pages for journaling or titles, or to use in your digital Art Journaling projects!

Some Real Hot Chicks!!!
